GEOPOLITICALLY STABLE LOCATION WITH LOCAL, PROVINCIAL AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SUPPORT
LOW DEVELOPMENT COST WITH EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE THAT INCLUDES:
Titanium is as strong as steel but 45% lighter and is immune to corrosion in all naturally occurring environments. Titanium and its alloys are used in a wide variety of industrial applications and industrial sectors. In the petrochemicals industry it is used as paint whitener. Titaniums unique set of physical, mechanical, metallurgical and composite compatibility characteristics help the aerospace sector to meet economy, fuel efficiency and other global standards
Vanadium is considered a strategic green metal, its key green applications include being used as a steel additive and as vanadium redox batteries. Vanadium-steel alloys are very tough and are used for armour plate, axles, tools, piston rods and crankshafts. Its value-add to industrial manufacturing has made it a mainstay and in-demand resource over the past decade. The Vanadium Redox Flow Battery uses vanadium electrolyte to store energy and enable wider use of renewable power generation such as wind and solar grid storage
Using magnetite in steel production creates a significant reduction in the overall carbon footprint. Magnetite, with its high iron content and low impurities, is the preferred feedstock in the steelmaking industry. Magnetite iron content can be easily concentrated to reduce overall shipping contents and reduce the emissions overall. With a high iron content, magnetite pellets increase blast furnace productivity and can produce high quality products without the need for further feedstock blending . The chemical makeup of magnetite also means less heat is required to produce steel resulting in significant energy savings. High grade iron ore will be an essential ingredient in the only form of green steelmaking currently anywhere near commercial viability
Phosphorus is an important mineral resource with numerous uses and applications in agriculture and the environment. Phosphorus is used in the manufacture of detergents, animal feed, and phosphate (PO43–) fertilizers. Global fertilizer markets have been upended by the current global crisis. The use of phosphorus fertilizers has boosted crop yields and helped feed millions, if not billions, of people and a new source of fertilizer is needed for the future agriculture markets of North America
Scandium has increasingly attracted attention worldwide because of its broad applications and pivotal roles in modern advanced technologies. It's used as a doping agent to strengthen and lighten aluminum alloys used in the automobile and aerospace industry. The weight reduction of planes, electric vehicles, combustion engine cars and trucks to extend battery range and improve fuel efficiency. Every kilogram taken off an airplane’s weight can save thousands of litres and millions of dollars of fuel over the lifetime of the airplane, a financial incentive that is greatly beneficial from an environmental standpoint. Scandium is used in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) . Future green hydrogen storage and transportation of hydrogen is another emerging market for scandium alloys resistive to the hydrogen products corrosive nature
